Whitney Biennial 2026

CULTUS is the second part of Silicon Traces, Zach Blas’s trilogy about the fantasies and ideologies that influence the tech industry’s drive toward domination. This installment focuses on religious beliefs and assumptions surrounding artificial intelligence (AI), presenting the exhibition space as a techno-religious computer that invokes a pantheon of AI gods and a heretical presence. The installation features musicians and actors, video created with computer graphics and motion-capture performance, and lyrics and sermons developed with generative AI models.
