Ali Eyal (he/him)

17

Ali Eyal painted this cityscape entirely from his childhood memory. Just before the Iraq War began in 2003, Eyal’s mother took him and his two sisters to the largest amusement park in Baghdad, so they could see the city one last time before leaving the country. Here he depicts his mother gesturing toward the urban landscape from the Ferris wheel.
