Plan a visit, tour, or program for your group of ten or more and enjoy discounted rates. Groups of 10 or more are required to make an advance reservation.

Private tours offer a one-hour experience, welcoming up to 25 guests. Please submit the form linked below to request a tour. A member of our team will get back to you within 3-5 business days. Please note, we recommend three weeks’ advance notice.

Guided tours can be organized for smaller groups, but there is a ten-ticket minimum purchase.

College and University instructors can also work one-on-one with a Teaching Fellow to develop a tour that engages and aligns with their course content.

School programs at the Museum and in the classroom use works of art to create a forum for ideas, debate, and exchange. 

K–12 Online Lessons
Interactive forty-minute online lessons engage students with works of art from the Whitney's collection through close looking exercises, guided discussions, and activities. These lessons are taught by Museum educators via video conferencing.

In a seventy-minute in-person gallery tour that builds upon classroom learning, students are introduced to 3–5 works of art through discussions and activities that incorporate the artist's voice and process.

K–12 Guided Visit + Studio
Guided Visit + Studio invites students to have a seventy-minute guided tour in the galleries followed by an hour of art making in the Whitney’s Hearst Artspace. This opportunity to explore materials and experiment with processes encourages students to think like artists and be inspired by artists’ ideas.

More for teachers

Free and reduced cost in-person and online sessions are available for community organizations and groups with disabilities in NYC.

A limited number of free or reduced-cost interactive in-person and online sessions are available for not-for-profit community-based organizations, senior centers, and groups of people with disabilities based in New York City. Programs are customized to meet the specific needs of each group with the goal of providing inclusive and accessible art experiences. We offer:

  • Accessible presentations on Whitney exhibitions
  • Artmaking workshops
  • Verbal description presentations
  • Sessions in American Sign Language
  • Sessions in English, Spanish, and Cantonese

We are not currently accepting requests for Community and Access Tours.

Request a virtual tour or lecture from one of the Whitney's Teaching Fellows on a topic of your choosing.

Whitney Teaching Fellows, Ph.D. candidates in Art History and related disciplines, can present on a range of topics drawing from the Whitney’s collection and exhibitions, or work with instructors to align content toward specific interests. Virtualtalks are forty-five minutes long and include a 30-minute lecture and a fifteen-minute Q&A session.

Pricing: $175 for a 45-minute session. Additional costs apply for more specifically tailored topics.

Guided by Museum educators, tours for K-12 camp groups use works of art in the Whitney’s collection and exhibitions to create a forum for ideas, debate, and exchange.

Summer programs will be offered in July and August 2025. The Whitney will begin processing visit requests in June 2025. Please email grouptours@whitney.org with any questions.
