Introduction

Bernard Jerome Perlin was an American painter. His style progressed from social realism in the New Deal era through pro-war art and illustration during World War II to magic realism paintings of urban American life, all in a representational style.

Introduction

American painter worked in a variety of styles including social realism and magic realism. He painted images used in WWII propaganda posters, street scenes of New York and views of Italy. He worked as an artist-correspondent for Life and Fortune magazines during World War II.
