2026 Pride at the Whitney

Celebrate Pride at the Whitney all month long. Discover the queer history of the Meatpacking District, contribute to the Community Pride Mural, and get creative with artists. This June, drop by the Museum to enjoy inclusive activities for all ages. LGBTQ+ visitors and allies are invited to free parties, creative workshops, performances, and more. 

Whitney Pride is part of the Museum’s ongoing commitment to support LGBTQ+ artists and communities and offers an inclusive space for all to gather and enjoy American art. Please note that registration is required for most programs.


Events

Free Friday Nights
Every Friday, 5–10 pm

Admission to the Whitney is free for all visitors every Friday evening from 5–10 pm. Enjoy art, drinks, special Pride programming for the month of June, music, city views, and more.

Pride Month Kickoff
June 5, 1–5 pm

Start Pride Month at the Whitney with a special ticket giveaway held in partnership with the Office of Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal. 

Queer History Walks
Select Weekends

Join us for a free walking tour exploring the rich queer history of the Whitney Museum’s neighborhood. This walk will bring visitors to select historical sites that once provided a place to find and create queer community.

New York City Gay Men’s Chorus: Our Joy Is A Protest
June 5, 5–10 pm

For the third year in a row, get ready to experience the vibrant heart of queer pride. This event fills the museum with the transformative power of song, featuring choral pieces that embody the spirit of Pride, joy, and community.

All Ages Artmaking: Whitney Community Pride Mural
June 14, 11 am–3 pm

Visitors of all ages are invited to get creative and contribute to the Whitney Community Pride Mural. Add your own drawings, messages, and designs throughout the day as the mural grows into a collective celebration of Pride, creativity, and community.

Pride Month Concerts with the Queer Urban Orchestra
June 14, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm

Inspired by works on view in the 2026 Biennial, the Queer Urban Orchestra (QUO) musicians will present two concerts in the theater, followed by a Q and A and an opportunity to take a closer look at the instruments. QUO musicians will also bring pop-up performances to the museum’s terraces throughout the day.

Free Second Sundays
June 14, 10:30 am–6 pm

Admission to the Whitney is free for all visitors all day on the second Sunday of every month. Enjoy special Pride programming for June's Second Sunday, all-ages artmaking related to art on view, storytimes from The New York Public Library, tours, art, and more. 

Radical Joy Ball with ADAPT
June 25, 4–6 pm

Join us for the 5th Annual Radical Joy Ball as we celebrate and honor the community living at the intersections of LGBTQ and disability identities. We envision a world where people can fully and authentically express themselves, a world where people of ALL abilities, genders and sexualities are welcome!

Member Night: Biennial Extravaganza
June 25, 7:30–10 pm

We’re celebrating the work and lives of LGBTQ+ artists—among Whitney members, in the community, and in our galleries—at this special edition of Member Night. Delight in an evening of open galleries, music, artmaking, and more.
