Only a month before the public opening of the new Whitney on May 1, the second installment of this afternoon event will offer a chance to learn more about the Whitney’s vision for the new building and explore the surrounding area.

Downtown Member Saturday Keynote Conversation: Perspectives on the Artists' Museum
A roundtable discussion moderated by associate curator Christopher Y. Lew.

Perimeter Tour: The Whitney's New Building
Take a close look at the external features of the Whitney’s new Renzo Piano–designed home and learn more about its state-of-the-art facilities and gallery spaces.

Neighborhood Art and Artists Walking Tour
A walking tour with Whitney teaching fellows that will highlight the artistic legacy of select neighborhood landmarks, including the Hudson Piers, the High Line, and White Columns.
3–3:30 and 4–4:30 pm
Short History of the Meatpacking District
A special talk about the Whitney’s new neighborhood.
1:30–5:30 pm
Member Meet and Greet Center
Location: The Standard, High Line, Garden Rooms, 69 Little West 12th St. between Washington St. and Tenth Ave.
