Cameron Martin

Cameron Martin (born 1970) is an American contemporary artist. He is the co-chair of the Painting Department at the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

Introduction

Martin is noted for his landscapes in which much of the pictorial detail from his source imagery is removed, resulting in spare, monochromatic compositions. Martin's source material includes 19th-century photography, advertisements, movies, and Japanese ukiyo-e prints.
