Zhang Ga

Zhang Ga is an artist and director of the Netart Initiative, a loosely knit, open source-based, hub-styled, forum-oriented, action-enabled consortium. Zhang Ga attended art school in Beijing, (West) Berlin and New York City. He has exhibited in Germany and America in ephemeral domains as well as tangible spaces; organized conferences as well as digital salons on network-based art practice; and served jury duties for new media art grants. He is more interested in the nuances of making neon signs than displaying the currents of electricity. Zhang Ga lives and works in NYC where he is a faculty member of the MFA Design and Technology Program @ Parsons School of Design; he also is a visiting lecturer @ Computer Graphics and Interactive Media @ Pratt Institute.
