Jasper Johns’s Three Flags with Scott Rothkopf

In celebration of #FlagDay, Whitney curator Scott Rothkopf discusses Jasper Johns’s iconic painting Three Flags (1958). This work will be featured in the upcoming exhibition Jasper Johns: Mind/Mirror, which opens September 29, 2021. Jasper Johns: Mind/Mirror is a monumental retrospective of Johns’s work, and will be presented simultaneously at the Whitney Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
