La iniciativa cinematográfica popular kekahi wahi filmó este entrenamiento satírico de resistencia en la costa de Bahía de Kealakekua en la isla de Hawái. Fue en este mismo lugar que en 1779, el máximo jefe Kalani‘ōpu‘u escapó de un intento de secuestro a manos del Capitán James Cook, el oficial de la Marina Real Británica cuyas tropas eran conocidas por propagar enfermedades entre los pueblos indígenas del Pacífico Sur. Hoy la bahía es un destino concurrido por turistas.
