Floor 3, Theater

For New York City Teens

Join artist Stina Puotinen to create an immersive installation inspired by Grant Wood! Wood often represented familiar landscapes in surreal and imaginative ways. Puotinen will work with participants to transform the Whitney’s Susan and John Hess Family Theater into a space that represents their own vision of the rural world represented in Wood’s work. Teens can add to a huge countryside mural, build fantastical plants using recycled materials, and make large-scale sculptural objects inspired by what they see in Wood’s paintings.

Free for teens. Upon entering the Museum, pick up a ticket in the lobby and head up to the Hess Theater on Floor Three.
