Director’s Council
The Director's Council is a premier patron group at the Whitney designed to engage and inform art collectors and enthusiasts. Through a variety of events hosted by Museum leadership, including Scott Rothkopf, Alice Pratt Brown Director, members gain an inside look at the Whitney, our programs, the artists we present, and our plans for the future.
Members enjoy an annual multi-day art trip to a domestic location each year. Additionally throughout the year, the group takes advantage of evenings with artists in their studios, art-filled day trips outside New York City, private collection visits, dinners with artists and collectors, receptions hosted by influential members of the art community, and much more.
Marcela Guerrero, DeMartini Family Curator, serves as the Director’s Council curatorial liaison. A Whitney curator since 2017, Guerrero has curated no existe un mundo poshuracán: Puerto Rican Art in the Wake of Hurricane Maria, Martine Gutierrez: Supremacy, and Pacha, Llaqta, Wasichay: Indigenous Space, Modern Architecture, New Art. She was also part of the curatorial team that organized Vida Americana: Mexican Muralists Remake American Art, 1925-1945.
Participation begins with an annual gift of $20,000, of which $485 is non-deductible.
