Education Committee

The Whitney Education Committee is an enthusiastic and inquisitive group dedicated to supporting the Museum’s mission to connect American art and artists with a diverse public. The Whitney’s critically acclaimed education programs—ranging from school visits and teen initiatives to activities for families, seniors, and audiences with disabilities—create opportunities for visitors with different needs, experiences, and interests to understand and experience art in a more meaningful way. Education Committee members see first-hand how their support helps the Museum impact our communities by making the Whitney a more welcoming and accessible museum, and they enjoy unique opportunities to deepen their own understanding of the art and artists exhibited at the Whitney.

Cris Scorza joined the Whitney in July 2021 as Helena Rubinstein Chair of Education and serves as the Education Committee staff liaison. Dedicated to creating community through American art and artists, she brings her considerable experience in museum education—from New York to San Diego—to her role at the Whitney. Cris is also active in the Whitney’s LatinX initiatives as well as the Museum’s growing Spanish language bilingual efforts.

Participation begins with an annual gift of $7,500, of which $255 is non-deductible.
