2025 Pride at the Whitney

Celebrate Pride at the Whitney all month long. Discover the queer history of the Meatpacking District, contribute to the Community Pride Mural, and get creative with artists. This June, drop by the Museum to enjoy inclusive activities for all ages. LGBTQ+ visitors and allies are invited to free parties, creative workshops, performances, and more. 

Whitney Pride is part of the Museum’s ongoing commitment to support LGBTQ+ artists and communities and offers an inclusive space for all to gather and enjoy American art. Please note that registration is required for most programs.


Events

Free Friday Nights
Every Friday, 5–10 pm

Admission to the Whitney is free for all visitors every Friday evening from 5–10 pm. Enjoy art, drinks, special Pride programming for the month of June, music, city views, and more.


Free Second Sundays
June 8, 10:30 am–6 pm

Admission to the Whitney is free for all visitors all day on the second Sunday of every month. Enjoy special Pride programming for June's Second Sunday, all-ages artmaking related to art on view, storytimes from The New York Public Library, tours, art, and more. 

Community Pride Mural
June 8, 11 am–3 pm

What does Pride mean to you? Get creative in the Floor 3 Artspace and contribute a work of art to the Whitney Community Pride Mural for this all ages artmaking event!

Queer Teen Night
June 13, 4–6 pm

LGBTQ+ youth and allies are invited to an evening at the Museum. The Whitney's Youth Insights Leaders and artist Dalton Gata, in collaboration with The Door, will lead a celebration featuring artmaking, performances, dancing, giveaways, and exhibition tours. 

Radical Joy Ball with ADAPT
June 18, 4–6 pm

The Radical Joy Ball celebrates the pride of self-expression. This event recognizes, honors, and celebrates those within our community who are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and living with a disability.

Member Night
June 25, 7:30–10 pm

The Whitney is open late—just for members! Celebrate with fellow supporters and enjoy everything the Museum has to offer. In addition to gallery access, the evening includes tours, music, artmaking, and more. 

New York City Gay Men’s Chorus
June 27, 5:30–10 pm

New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and Tonewall will fill the Museum with the transformative power of song. Join us on this Free Friday Night to hear choral pieces that embody the spirit of Pride, joy, and community.

Queer History Walking Tours
Select weekends in June

Join us for free walking tours exploring the rich queer history of the Meatpacking District. From the Hudson River piers to the neighborhood nightclubs, these walking tours bring visitors to select historical sites that once provided a place to find and create queer community.
