In this video, artist and Whitney educator Christine S. Kim introduces the Whitney video blogs (or, "vlog"), a video series conducted in American Sign Language that covers events and exhibitions at the Whitney.
VLOG Introduction
Hi, Welcome to The Whitney Museum of American Art. I am Christine Kim, CK for short, museum educator and artist. I am here at the museum located in New York City on the Upper East Side at the intersection of East 75th Street and Madison Avenue.
The museum displays contemporary art typically by living artists. The museum is considered the artist's museum. We have over 18, 000 pieces of work in our collection, spanning the 20th Century up to the present. There is a variety of art in different disciplines such as photography, architecture, sculpture, painting, drawing, sound, and performance.
We are very excited about this vlog project. The vlog will include information on special exhibitions, interviews with artists, and different pieces from our permanent collection. If you would like additional information regarding programs and events here at the Museum, take a look at our website at www.whitney.org. If you would like to sign up for our monthly email notifications regarding museum events, email us at asl_tours@whitney.org.
Thank you.
