Grant Wood: 
Imagination Isles

While he was a teacher in the 1920s, Grant Wood created a mural with his students called Imagination Isles. Based on the artist’s original design and paint colors, Whitney teens re-created this mural for the exhibition Grant Wood: American Gothic and Other Fables. The teens, along with curators Barbara Haskell and Sarah Humphreville, examine this project and the power of imagination in Wood’s work.
