Artists and scientists are more similar than we think: they both solve problems with creative solutions, and most importantly, they experiment! This workshop will focus on the work of Aleksandra Mir, and her video project The Seduction of Galileo Galilei (2011) on view in the Lobby Gallery. Inspired by Galileo’s experiments, Mir presents a video documenting her own gravitational experiments, examining the connections between science and art. Families will view a selection from this video, and conduct their own art-related experiments.
