For families with kids of all ages

Inspired by the artistic traditions of the Taíno people of Puerto Rico, artist Jorge González, Alice Chéveres, and Francisco González invite families to join them for a day of collaborative artmaking and storytelling! Parents and kids will have the opportunity to learn about indigenous artmaking and popular crafts techniques by participating in a clay pottery workshop and a large-scale weaving project. González will also ask participants to share stories and poems at a reading session in the Museum’s theater. 

González’s work will be on view in Pacha, Llaqta, Wasichay: Indigenous Space, Modern Architecture, New Art.

Free with Museum Admission. This event will be led in both English and Spanish.

Para familias con niños de todas edades

¡Inspirados en las tradiciones artísticas del pueblo Taino de Puerto Rico, los artistas Jorge González, Alice Chéveres, y Francisco González invitan a familias a que les acompañen para un día de cuentacuentos y talleres colaborativos de arte! Al participar en un taller de cerámica y un proyecto a gran escala de tejeduría, las familias tendrán la oportunidad de aprender acerca de artes indígenas y sus técnicas artesanales. González también invitará a que los participantes compartan historias y poemas en una sesión de lectura en el teatro del museo.

Las obras de González se podrán observar en la exposición Pacha, Llaqta, Wasichay: Indigenous Space, Modern Architecture, New Art.

El evento es gratuito con entrada al museo. Este evento será presentado en inglés y español.
