Floor 3, Hearst Artspace

Teens are invited to Open Studio for Teens, a free art-making program on select Fridays. This spring, we will work with contemporary artists to create and learn new techniques with art projects inspired by the artists on view at the Whitney.

In this workshop, teens will learn about Calder’s Circus by artist Alexander Calder and explore the mixed media used to build the figurines. Teens will consider the process of depicting a performance through sculpture and make their own sculptures using wire and wood.
