Teens
New York City teens are invited to Halloween Teen Night at the Whitney, organized by our Youth Insights Leaders and artist John Edmonds and inspired by the exhibitions Inheritance and Ruth Asawa Through Line. Come in costume and enjoy artist-led artmaking workshops, face painting, teen-led tours, music, dancing, snacks, and more! MetroCards and Art Supplies will be provided.
This event is free for teens. Refreshments and art materials will be provided.
About the artist
John Edmonds is an artist working in photography who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. He received his MFA in Photography from Yale University School of Art and his BFA in Photography at the Corcoran School of Arts and Design. His work focuses on themes of belonging, history, community, and identity.
Halloween Weekend at the Whitney is an inclusive and safe celebration for all. In that spirit, we do not allow costumes that perpetuate cultural appropriation, discrimination, or violence of any kind, including fake weapons. We invite you to be inspired by the works in our collection and check out the #IAmNotACostume campaign to learn more about choosing a respectful costume.
