Floor 6, Sondra Gilman Study Center

Contemporaries Patron Members

Join senior curatorial assistant Sarah Humphreville and curatorial fellow David Crane for a special “From the Vault” close look and discussion in the Whitney’s Sondra Gilman Study Center. The Center is a state-of-the-art storage, research, and display facility dedicated to the Whitney’s collection of over 19,000 works on paper. Sarah and David have selected a group of prewar prints and drawings from the Center’s holdings to discuss that will reveal the variety of American art from 1900 to 1945.

Artists on view will include Charles Burchfield, Stuart Davis, Philip Guston, Edward Hopper, Lee Krasner, Jacob Lawrence, Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, and Grant Wood.

Contemporaries Patron members are invited to this event. The invitation is for two individuals per membership household.
