Floor 3, Artspace

For all ages

Take a close look at paintings by Georgia O’Keeffe currently on view in the Whitney’s collection. Notice how the artist zooms in on flowers’ intricate details, creating paintings that blend abstraction with representation. As she once said, “Paint it big and they will be surprised into taking time to look at it—I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of flowers.”

Artists of all ages are invited to join Whitney Educators in the Hearst Artspace to make their own floral still-life drawings from freshly picked bouquets!
