Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; purchase with funds from a public fundraising campaign in May 1982. One half the funds were contributed by the Robert Wood Johnson Jr. Charitable Trust. Circle, Fellow, Sponsor and Benefactor members are invited for a tour of High Wire: Calder’s Circus at 100, led by Roxanne Smith, Jennifer Rubio Assistant Curator of the Collection.

High Wire: Calder’s Circus at 100 marks the centennial anniversary of Calder’s Circus by bringing together the iconic work with other examples of Alexander Calder’s circus-themed wire sculptures and drawings, related archival material, and early examples of the artist’s abstract sculptures.

Complimentary refreshments will be served in the Lobby prior to the tour.
