Contemporaries Patrons

Contemporaries Patrons are invited to tour the corporate collection of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, which began its art collection in 1979 by acquiring quality prints, works on paper, paintings, and sculpture. Its aim was to recognize established figures in the art world since 1950, along with future generations of artists that distinguished themselves in the years that followed. Starting with Abstract Expressionism, the collection reflects all the major movements of recent art history, including Pop Art, Minimalism, and Post-Modernism among others.

Since 1995, acknowledging the larger role photography has found within contemporary art discourse, the firm’s acquisitions have been largely photographic works. Consistent with the character of the entire art collection, these new acquisitions represent the myriad approaches to subject matter and technical manipulation. The sum of the collection provides a stimulating work environment for staff and clients and establishes the firm’s profile of enthusiastic support for the visual arts. After the collection visit, we will gather at a nearby bar for drinks and light snacks.

Open to Contemporaries Patrons. Become a member or upgrade your membership by calling (212) 570-7746.
