Floor Five

Contemporaries and Contemporaries Patrons

Join us for a Whitney teaching fellow-led tour exploring the painting of Laura Owens. At the onset of her career in the mid-nineties, during a time when many in the critical establishment viewed painting with suspicion, Owens embraced the medium. Her early works demonstrate her keen interest in how paintings relate to their surroundings and reflect her knowledge of art history and abstraction.

Active members at the Contemporaries and Contemporaries Patron level are invited to register for one of these options:

Wednesday, November 29
Option 1: 7:45 pm
Option 2: 8:15 pm
