NYC teens are invited for this talk with graphic novelists Jessica Abel and Dash Shaw. Cartoonist and writer Jessica Abel is the author of the graphic novel La Perdida, a recipient of the 2002 “Best New Series” Harvey Award. Dash Shaw is the author of Bottomless Belly Button, a surreal family comedy in graphic novel form and is currently at work on the animated feature, The Ruined Cast.

The artists and authors will discuss their work, key events from their adolescent years, and respond to the exhibition Lyonel Feininger: At the Edge of the World. After the talk, teens will be invited for a tour of the exhibition led by high school participants in the Whitney’s Youth Insights Leaders program.

This program is free of charge and open to all high school students. Seating is limited, so please RSVP to youthinsights@whitney.org or contact Youth Programs staff at (212) 570-7752 or (212) 570-7665 for more information.
