For kids ages 5–10

Welcome to After School Art Club, a free weekly online program with Whitney educators! Kids ages 5 to 10 are invited to experiment and make art with at-home art materials. Tell a friend and join the club!

This week’s activity is inspired by Eva Hesse. The artist’s only instruction about how to install this structure was that it should hang from thirteen points, ultimately leaving the configuration of the points up to those hanging it. Together, we will take inspiration from the way Hesse developed rules and a structure for this free-flowing and changeable sculpture. Then, we will make our own abstract drawings with a hidden structure!
