Hey everyone!

This is Sakhia here, blogging about our never-ending adventures at the Whitney!

(Imaginary crowd cheers)

Recently we've been working with teaching assistants from the New York Film Academy to get started on the YI Leaders mission for Spring 2010, a film project for the Biennial, which is opening soon! We usually meet at our base of operations at the Whitney, but about two weeks ago, we had a change of scenery. This time, the YI Leaders were invited to a top secret lair in SoHo, the NYFA classrooms on Prince and Broadway. While there, we watched a few video clips and short documentaries, including one about making glass, which actually looked more like a musical! We also worked more with the cameras, playing around with focus, framing different shots, and something called "white balance," which we have to set up correctly in order to get the right color in our shots while filming.
