On Saturday, we gave our first tour of the exhibition, Georgia O'Keeffe: Abstraction, to the Teen Council from the Bronx Museum. It was a great initial tour as we delved into discussion about perspective and abstraction. O'Keeffe considered abstraction to be very personal and she used it as a method to express her innermost feelings. Throughout our tour we discussed her work and what it might represent. We saw how various events in her life have impacted her work and how her art has changed over time.

The exhibition, Georgia O'Keeffe: Abstraction follows the progression of O'Keeffe's work from basic abstractions to more complex investigations, and ultimately by the end of her life, returning to her simpler beginnings. It was our first tour this semester among many more to come. The Bronx Museum youth were very responsive and the tour wouldn't have gone as well as it did without their enthusiastic participation!
