On Friday April 23, the event everyone had been waiting for finally took place at the Whitney: the premiere of Fresh Perspectives: Teen Takes on the Biennial. To sum it up, YI Leaders invited their friends, families, and teachers to watch all their hard work on set and in the editing lab come together on the big screen. The event was a success! Everyone learned a bit about the history of the Biennial, Kate Gilmore's passion for feminism and destroying objects, and what the government is trying to tell us through flowers. Amazing! Watch the films online and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

At the end of the screening, the YI Leaders were awarded with certificates and T-shirts from the New York Film Academy for all of our hard work. It was a truly a unique experience working with the NYFA teaching assistants, Jamal, Leigh Ann, and Yafang and our editing teacher, Jeremiah. We'll miss you guys!
