Ways of Being | WhitneyxWarhol Episode 3

Jan 25, 2019

On the occasion of the Whitney’s Andy Warhol retrospective, we take a closer look at Warhol before he was Warhol—as a young gay artist in the 1950s and as the son of Eastern European immigrants. We explore the ways he included coded references in his artwork to his personal relationships and innermost desires, as well as the ways he embraced American culture while ultimately creating his own set of rules.
