Perspectives on Race and Representation: An Evening With the Racial Imaginary Institute

The 2017 Biennial raises urgent questions around race, violence, the ethics of representation, and the limits of empathy. Taking the debate sparked by Dana Schutz’s painting, Open Casket, as a starting point, the Whitney partnered with Claudia Rankine and the Racial Imaginary Institute to hold this free program.
