Camp Groups
For tours with K-12 camp groups, Museum educators use works of art in the Whitney’s collection and exhibitions to create a forum for ideas, debate, and exchange.
The Whitney Museum's camp group tours will begin Monday, July 8, 2019, and will run until Friday, August 16, 2019. Please check back starting in early August to arrange for K-12 Guided Visits for the fall.
In a one-hour-and-ten-minute-long thematic gallery tour, Whitney educators introduce students to three to five works of art through discussions and activities that incorporate the artists’ voices and processes. Educators engage students in exploring works of art through careful observation and discussion, helping them discover, question, and understand the artistic process. Tours are tailored to meet the curricular needs and interests of participating camp groups, and can focus on the collection or on temporary exhibitions.
