General Admission Tickets

All ticket buyers must follow our new safety guidelines:

Stay at home if you are feeling sick.
Please do not visit the Museum if you have a fever or any COVID-19 symptoms, have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, or have had close contact with anyone who is confirmed or is suspected of having COVID-19.

Those traveling to New York must comply with the New York State COVID-19 Travel Advisory.

Vaccination required.
All visitors aged 5 and older must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 for admission to the Whitney, in accordance with New York City requirements. Visitors aged 18 and older will also be asked to show photo ID.

Effective January 29, 2022, all visitors aged 5 and older must show proof of two vaccine doses or a single Johnson & Johnson dose.

Face coverings are required, regardless of vaccination status.
Face coverings that cover the nose and mouth must be worn at all times on the premises by all visitors over the age of two. Masks with valves will not be allowed in the Museum.

Keep six feet apart.
Review signage and ground markings throughout the Museum to ensure proper physical distancing.

All visitors must book timed tickets in advance. Members may use their Whitney membership card for admission. Timed ticket arrivals are in place to manage capacity. Please note that same-day tickets may be limited.

Cover your cough, and wash your hands frequently.
Hand-sanitizing stations are available throughout the Museum.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your visit, and all those entering the Whitney do so at their own risk as to such exposure. Read all our visitor policies.

Whitney staff and visitors have the right to an environment free from abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior. The Museum reserves the right to remove any person acting in an unacceptable or inappropriate manner.

All visitors must book timed tickets in advance. Whitney members may book complimentary member tickets and discounted guest tickets in advance, or use their Whitney membership card for admission when they arrive at the Museum.

Museum admission is Pay-What-You-Wish on Fridays, 7–10 pm. Advance tickets for these hours are required.

Employees of the Museum's corporate partners must book timed tickets in advance. Contact your employer to receive a promotional code that provides complimentary admission and present your corporate ID when you arrive at the Museum.

Affiliate Admission

Active military and veterans; staff from other museums; members of AAM, ICOM, CUNY, and Cool Culture; Reciprocal Museum Members; and press must book timed tickets in advance. Present your affiliate ID when you arrive at the Museum to verify your complimentary admission.
