All ticket buyers must follow our new safety guidelines:
Stay at home if you are feeling sick.
Visitors will have body temperatures taken prior to entering the Museum via contactless thermal cameras. Please do not visit the Museum if you have a fever or any COVID-19 symptoms, have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, or have had close contact with anyone who is confirmed or is suspected of having COVID-19.
Those traveling from states designated by the Department of Health as having significant COVID-19 community transmission are required to quarantine for 14 days upon entering New York and may not visit the Whitney during this period. View the current list of states requiring quarantine.
Face coverings are required.
Face coverings that cover the nose and mouth must be worn at all times by all visitors over the age of two. Masks with valves will not be allowed in the Museum.
Keep six feet apart.
Review signage and ground markings throughout the Museum to ensure proper physical distancing.
Cover your cough, and wash your hands frequently.
Hand-sanitizing stations are available throughout the Museum.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your visit, and all those entering the Whitney do so at their own risk as to such exposure. Read all our visitor policies.
All visitors and members must book timed tickets in advance. Please note that the Whitney is operating at a significantly reduced capacity for your safety, and same-day tickets may be extremely limited.
Museum admission is Pay What You Wish on Fridays, 6–9 pm. Advance ticketing required.
Active military and veterans; staff from other museums; members of AAM, ICOM, CUNY, and Cool Culture; Reciprocal Museum Members; and press must book timed tickets in advance. Present your affiliate ID when you arrive at the Museum to verify your complimentary admission.
