Conservation at the Whitney
Supporters of the Whitney’s Conservation Department provide essential funding for the on-going research of artistic technique and the preservation of art. Throughout the year, supporters are given the opportunity to participate in discussions with Department members as well as with renowned scholars, gaining valuable insight into each artist’s method and the innovative approaches needed to treat and study the art in the Whitney’s collection.
SUPPORT: Suggested support begins with an annual gift of $1,000 and up.
LEADERSHIP:
Carol Mancusi Ungaro is the Associate Director for Conservation & Research. She holds a joint appointment as Associate Director of Conservation and Research at the Whitney and as Founding Director of the Center for the Technical Study of Modern Art at Harvard Art Museums.
BENEFITS OF SUPPORT:
Each year, the Conservation Department presents a series of programs and discussions that highlight the Whitney’s research involving artists’ materials and techniques and the preservation of new forms of artistic work.
