Stuart Comer on curating project-based art

Stuart Comer: I really enjoy collaborating with artists. I think curatorial practice has changed a lot, and it’s not so much anymore about trophy hunting, going to studios and galleries and just selecting things for display in the museum. But it’s really about working constantly with the artist to kind of really think through how their project will unfold over the course of the production and potentially also the exhibition. I think because so many artists now are working in film and video and in performance, these are by their nature more collaborative processes that often involve many more people than painting or sculpture.
