A Conversation with Amy Sherald

On July 10, 2025, the Whitney hosted a conversation with artist Amy Sherald, writer and cultural commentator Touré, curator Rujeko Hockley, and artist and activist Arewà Basit on Amy Sherald: American Sublime. The panel will discuss Sherald’s practice and her unique approach to representing Blackness through depictions of everyday Black Americans.
