Torkwase Dyson Installation: Behind the Scenes | Hyundai Terrace Commission

Apr 2, 2024

After three weeks of installation, Torkwase Dyson’s Liquid Shadows, Solid Dreams (A Monastic Playground) opened to the public last week. Take a look at how our art handling and carpentry teams brought this work to life on our Floor 5 terrace. The massive sculpture is part of Whitney Biennial 2024: Even Better Than the Real Thing and is the inaugural Hyundai Terrace Commission. Described by Dyson as a “monastic playground,” the installation is meant to be activated by visitors, who are invited to touch, sit on, and experience the work in a tactile way.
