Pope.L: Well I think that the more obvious components of Claim are the walls, the paint, the baloney, the text that explains the process and logic behind the work, an open bottle of Mad Dog 20/20, these wooden gutters where the drippings from the baloney can collect. Basically those are the physical components of the work. But the immaterial components would be people's expectations or their fears and anxiety that surround counting people, enumerating people. I think that's a material as well.
Narrator: Your player will pause now, so you can read the text Pope.L refers to, if you’d like. In it, he makes a series of deliberately confusing and contradictory claims about counting Jewish people in New York.
