Black-and-white Drawings

4

Discrete works in their own right, Savdie’s black-and white drawings are the first step in the artist’s exploration of form, line, and texture for her paintings. With each work on paper, Savdie establishes her composition, creating a foundation she later elaborates upon through paint, other textures, and her exuberant color palette. The artist often continues adding visual elements to both works simultaneously, which distinguishes the painting and the drawing from each other over time.
