The Andy Warhol Film Project at “To Save and Project: The 11th MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation”

As part of its ongoing collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art, the Andy Warhol Film Project at the Whitney will be hosting two programs of rare, newly preserved Warhol films, presented at the Museum of Modern Art on October 27 as part of To Save and Project: The 11th MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation. Organized by the Andy Warhol Film Project‘s John G. Hanhardt and Claire K. Henry, the program will feature Andy Warhol Film Project catalogue raisonné contributor Bruce Jenkins discussing Warhol’s early film practice with poet John Giorno following the screening of several Warhol shorts from 1963. The newly preserved Tiger Morse (Reel 14 of ****, 1966) will then premiere, followed by a discussion between Andy Warhol Film Project catalogue raisonné contributor Bill Horrigan and photographer Billy Name.

These Warhol films have been preserved with a grant from the National Film Preservation Foundation by The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, as part of the museum's larger mission of promoting and safeguarding Andy Warhol's legacy.
