Visit the Jersey City studio of Torkwase Dyson. An artist featured in the Whitney’s current exhibition Between the Waters, Dyson is a painter who works through multiple mediums to create a language that is both diagrammatic and expressive. 

Torkwase Dyson (b. 1973) is a New Jersey-based artist whose work has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum, Studio Museum in Harlem, The Drawing Center, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, among others. She received an MFA from the Yale School of Art and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
