Floor Eight, Tom and Diane Tuft Trustee Room
Drawing on works in the 2017 Whitney Biennial, this series of intensive, single-session courses, led by noted experts, will offer participants an overview of the artistic questions and strategies shaping the practices of artists today.
Participants are welcome to register for individual sessions or for the entire series.
Crash Course on Contemporary Art: Sculpture and Installation

Instructor: Paula Burleigh is a Joan Tisch Senior Teaching Fellow at the Whitney and a PhD candidate in Art History at the CUNY Graduate Center. Paula has taught adult education courses at the Museum of Modern Art, as well as undergraduate courses in Art History and the History of Photography at CUNY Baruch College, Hunter College, and Bard High School Early College.
Crash Course on Contemporary Art: Photography and the Moving Image

Instructor: Soyoung Yoon is Program Director and Assistant Professor of Art History & Visual Studies at the Department of the Arts, Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, The New School. She is also a Visiting Faculty at the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program [ISP].
Crash Course on Contemporary Art: Painting

Instructor: Jennie Goldstein, Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum, has contributed to numerous publications and exhibitions at the Whitney, including Where We Are: Selections from the Whitney’s Collection, 1900-1960 and Human Interest: Portraits from the Whitney’s Collection. She served as a Joan Tisch Teaching Fellow at the Whitney from 2011 to 2015, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in late modern and contemporary art at Stony Brook University focusing on intersections of visual art and dance. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, she worked as a Curatorial Assistant and Senior Curatorial Assistant at the Whitney.
