Seth Price:
A Reading from his New Novel followed by a Conversation with Charline von Heyl

Fri, Nov 20, 2015
6–8 pm

Floor Three, Susan and John Hess Family Theater

Seth Price reads excerpts from his recently published novel, a provocative narrative that explores the life of the contemporary artist. For over a decade, Price has explored how artistic mediums, materials, and distribution systems together create meaning and value—designing works that often subvert these functional relationships. His work has taken many forms including music (CDs and records), writing (manifestos, fiction, poetry, how-to books), videos, fashion collaborations, and paintings and sculptures. Price is concerned with how information and images inscribe themselves onto these various forms and surfaces, and also in how the resulting objects travel through the world to reach their audience with identifiable and consumable aesthetics. For this special evening presentation, Price’s reading will be followed by a conversation with the artist Charline von Heyl.

Event tickets are required ($10 adults, $8 students and seniors; free for members and children under 18).

The Susan and John Hess Family Theater is equipped with an induction loop and infrared assistive listening system. Accessible seating is available.
