This event is free, and refreshments will be provided. Walk-ins are welcomed. RSVPs are not required but preregistration for the free dance class is appreciated.

Museum Lobby

Open to older adults ages 50+

Join us for the return of Older Adults Day at the Whitney. Older adults are invited to visit the Museum during special hours open only to them and enjoy special programming.  

Breakfast (registration is now closed)
The breakfast co-sponsored by Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, Congressman Dan Goldman, Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal, Assembly Member Deborah Glick, and Council Member Erik Bottcher has reached capacity and registration is now closed. Please join us and drop in after 10:30 for other activities.

In the galleries
During this event attendees are invited to explore the Museum’s galleries on their own or participate in a free guided tour of the groundbreaking Edges of Ailey exhibition. In addition, guests are invited to enjoy exploring Survival Piece #5: Portable Orchard and ask Whitney Museum experts about the trees. 

Edges of Ailey exhibition tours are limited to twenty attendees per group but preregistration is not necessary.

Classes
This day will also feature drop-in artmaking and a special Alvin Ailey Dance Class, AileyDance for Active Aging from 11 am–12 pm. Join us for dance and conversation and learn about Alvin Ailey’s masterwork Revelations

Transportation
Project CART will provide first come, first served free transportation services. No calling, pre-booking, or registration needed. Riders will only need to choose to wait at one of the following locations and times:

9 am: Greenwich House (Washington Square), 20 Washington Street North
