Patrons and Contemporaries Patrons

Share a glass of wine with other members before joining a Whitney Teaching Fellow, one of our art historians in residence, for a tour of our newest exhibition, Glenn Ligon: AMERICA. A leading member of a generation of artists who came to the fore in the late 1980s and early 1990s by exploring issues of racial and sexual identity in their work, Glenn Ligon possesses a singular artistic vision that synthesizes questions of identity with key issues from the history of modern painting and more recent conceptual art. This is a special opportunity to learn more about the exhibition in an intimate, after-hours setting.
