For families with kids of all ages
Join us for a family workshop on abode brick making techniques with artist Rafa Esparza. For the 2017 Biennial, Esparza transformed one of the Museum’s galleries into a rotunda made out of adobe bricks. Each brick was built by hand from a combination of clay, horse dung, hay, and water from the Los Angeles River. For this workshop Esparza will share his knowledge on making adobe bricks as well as his personal connection to these materials and processes.
For this activity we will be working with mud, hay, water, and other messy materials. We recommend wearing clothes that can get dirty. This program is weather permitting.
This program is free, drop-in, and first come first serve.
