Teens are invited to join artist Ignacio Gatica for a special Open  Studio for Teens. Through photography and creative image-making, participants will explore how visual storytelling can capture personal experiences, spark dialogue, and deepen connections to the world around them.

Inspired by Gatica’s exploration of Santiago, Chile’s financial district—known as “Sanhattan”—teens will consider how cities and public spaces reflect history, power, and change. Participants will visit Gatica’s immersive installation, which weaves together photography, cityscapes, and dreamlike narration to examine how Sanhattan simulates, shadows, predicts, and resists its namesake, Manhattan. Drawing from the artist’s layered vision of urban life, teens will create their own photographic cityscapes and visual narratives, imagining the hidden stories, memories, and futures embedded within the places they inhabit.
