Madeline Hollander: Ouroboros: Gs
Outside, Gansevoort and West Streets
5–9 pm
2019 Biennial artist Madeline Hollander choreographs the installation of a portion of the Whitney’s flood mitigation system, collaborating with trained Whitney staff to simultaneously build and dismantle segments that surround the Museum.

Artist Discussion and Screening: Autumn Knight

Biennial artist Autumn Knight will discuss her work with scholar and artist Ayanna Dozier. The talk will situate Knight’s practice within a long tradition of Black women’s storytelling in literature and performance, reaching back to the nineteenth century.

Critical Looking Seminar: Singular Practices, Collective Voices

We often imagine artists as working in isolation, yet many Biennial participants use art to frame relationships within their communities. Join teaching fellow Aliza Shvarts to explore how an individual art practice can articulate a collective demand.
