Celebrate ten years of the Whitney in the Meatpacking District—a decade of art, culture, and community. We’re marking this milestone with a festive evening honoring our neighborhood’s creativity and cultural exchange alongside our inspiring 2025 exhibition lineup—including Amy Sherald’s breakthrough New York solo show American Sublime—with gallery access, tours, music, artmaking, and more.
This special edition of Member Night is open to all members. One-time-use member guest passes may be used. Not open to corporate and reciprocal members.

Join Teaching Artist Jaqueline Cedar to celebrate a Decade Downtown at the Whitney and draw inspiration from Amy Sherald's practice in reshaping American Realism as we transform iconic works of the last century to reflect our current culture. Using reference materials from the Whitney's permanent collection, collage a new image exploring contemporary ideas of identity and place.
Creative Construction
Floor 3, Hess Theater
Drop in and join Teaching Artist Kristin Roeder to make a mini museum of your own design. Then, arrange your building with other members’ and draw the surrounding environment to create a tabletop “Museum City.”
Sunset Cityscape Sketching
Floor 6, Outdoor Terrace
At this guided drop-in drawing activity with Teaching Artist Angela Tornello, capture the views of NYC from your perspective on the Museum’s terrace as the sun goes down.
This activity is weather dependent and ends at dusk.
Pre-Event Whitney Walking Tour
Start your Member Night adventure early with Whitney Educators exploring vibrant and varied cultural highlights within just a few blocks of the Museum—from the many Greenwich Village artists who came through the Museum’s first home on 8th Street, to the varied artistic projects along the Hudson River Piers.
Please note: RSVP is required for the walking tour and space is limited. Registration instructions will be provided by email.
